Mii Channel Wad

Download and run the official ModMii Installer.
The installer is self-explanatory, but if for some reason you run into issues you can download the latest zip from HERE and unzip it anywhere on your PC. Then just double-click ModMii.exe or ModMiiSkin.exe.
You can use the ModMii Wizard to softmod any Wii. Even if the Wii is already softmodded you can update all your softmods (overwriting existing softmods) by telling ModMii that it is the first time you're modding your Wii, even though its not. You can also use this wizard to setup up a USB-Loader instead of having to later use the USB-Loader Setup Guide
This wizard allows you to enjoy many of the benefits of a softmodded Wii without installing any unofficial content (ie. should not void warranty). It will allow you to boot an emulated nand off external storage instead of the internal nand memory (i.e. initiate an exploit to launch Casper which redirects to load an emulated NAND).
On a related note, did you know you can make a nand backup on a virgin wii before even installing the homebrew channel or bootmii? Inside ModMii's support folder is a file called 'Casper2BootMii.bat', run it and ModMIi will save Casper and bootmii files to the right places so that you can make a nand backup directly from an exploit.
Set up a USB-Loader to saveplay backups of your games tofrom an external hard drive.
You should only need this particular wizard to correct problems caused by inferior and outdated softmods like 'cIOScorp' or 'DarkCorp'.
The HackMii Installer can't run properly on Wiis that have been overly or improperly modified. If the HackMii installer freezes, or your Homebrew Channel is upside-down or you get a no vulnerable IOS error, this guide will resolve the issue.
For those interested in the specifics, this wizard will instruct you to launch a WAD Manager via an exploit and install some clean IOSs that the HackMii Installer likes (e.g. IOS58).
Syscheck is a homebrew application you can run on wii's that have already been modified. As its name implies, it will CHECK your SYStem and save a report to your SD card. If you open your sysCheck.csv log with ModMii it will analyze your setup and identify which mods are out of date. ModMii will prompt you to download only the files required to update your softmod and build a custom guide for you to follow.
You can analyze a log by dragging it onto ModMii.exe or a shortcut for it - or you can launch the syscheck updater from ModMii's main menu and browse for your log like a caveman ;)

Send cmd line instructions to ModMii to perform various instructions. To see the help menu just open a cmd window where ModMii.exe is saved and type 'ModMii Help' then press enter.
This is actually how ModMiiSkin works. You could write your own apps that call ModMii to do the heavy lifting! Just please remember to give credit, and heck you can email or message me on gbatemp if you'd like to collaborate!
Remove unnecessary files from your SD Card after you're done softmodding your Wii.
Instead of having your wii readwrite to the internal memory you can have it use external storage. That's like being able to make a backup of your Wii and load it on a friend's console!
Use ModMii to assist you in setting up and installing neek or neek2o which are SD/USB NAND/ES emulation kits for the Wii. This allows you to load an emulated NAND from an SD Card or a FAT32 formatted USB Hard Drive. This means you can carry a backup of personal system menu with all your game saves with you and load it on any Wii. If using neek+di/neek2o+di you can even load games from your external Hard Drive in the disc-channel. An emulated NAND is required to load neek/neek2o, but ModMii can help you with that too!
Build an emulated NAND that you can load using neek/neek2o or other tools like mighty channels or triiforce. ModMii allows you to choose from various options when customizing your emulated NAND.
Modify an existing emulated NAND. You can installuninstall Priiloader, install a custom system menu theme and more.
neek2o+di supports loading Wii game saved as WBFS files (most common format), but the original neek requires games be extracted to fst format (aka SNEEK Format). To accomplish this you can use ModMii to extract a whole folder of games to fst format.
Why does this even exist you ask? Two reasons - first because it's grandfathered to support the original neek... but that's lame because you use neek2o right which supports WBFS files which is pretty much the gold standard at this point. Well the second reason because the FST file system by design allows you to see all the individual files that make up a game. So if you want to make some custom levels or tweaks this file system makes it super easy to swap in new files.
A forwarder is like a shortcut that starts an application, channel or website.
To build a forwarder, from ModMii classic's main menu, enter 'A' for advanced downloads, then enter 'F' for Forwarder DOLISO Builder.
Forwarders can be run using the Homebrew Channel, or injected into system menu channels, or installed via Priiloader so you can control what your Wii boots when it first starts up, etc. You can even inject your forwarder into an ISO (which is basically a 'game' you can load from a USB Loader to start a different application).
Using ModMii You can make forwarders that launch an app (dol or elf file) from an SD Card or a USB Hard Drive, or launch a channel you already have installed on the Wii, or launch the internet channel to a specific webpage.
If you want to inject your forwarder into another channelWAD, download Customize Mii from ModMii's download page 2 and use it to load a channelWAD, and inject your new forwarder.dol that you build with ModMii.
Only for advanced Wii hackers. Only use this function if you know what you're doing.
From ModMii classic's main menu, enter 'A' for advanced downloads. Enter the number corresponding to the IOS or cIOS you would like to modify. You can enter 'BETA' if you want to build a different version of the famous d2x cIOS, but the version bundled with ModMii is all you should ever need.
Then ModMii will prompt enter a new slot number, or version number or apply patches.

From ModMii classic's main menu, enter 'A' for advanced downloads. Then enter 'U' for User-Defined Custom Download. From here you can download and optionally patch an IOSMIOSSystem Menu that isn't listed on ModMii's standard download pages.
Basically this is the same as NUS Downloader but can make IOS patches without having to use a second application.
Only for advanced Wii hackers. Only use this function if you know what you're doing and are able to tolerate and report potential bugs in the beta cIOS.
From ModMii classic's main menu, enter 'A' for advanced downloads or '4' for Download Page 4. Then enter 'BETA' to build a different version of the famous d2x cIOS, but the version bundled with ModMii is all you should ever need. Under Contruction.

Original Poster 2 years ago. Oh thank you, I'm new to Wii emulation. This is how to obtain the Mii channel iso. Anyone know of a way to reinstall the Mii channel? I deleted it because I didn’t think I would need it anymore, and then I seen the dog shit ugly mii I made for. If you look you will see it is actually a channel, not the.wad itself. This is the channels page not homebrew and hasn't been updated in 4 months. Apart from that, there isn't much difference between v1.3 & 1,7 anyway, they both install.wad's.

CustomizeMii is a tool by Leathl that allows you to create channel WADs by customizing existing base WADs, or any other channel WAD.

Required
  • A computer (which you have if you're reading this).

Guide

Setup of CustomizeMii
1. Download CustomizeMii and extract it. First read the txt files that come with the app. If you did this, start CustomizeMii.exe
1) Choosing a base wad (Source tab)
2. CustomizeMii will open in the first tab, called Source.
What we need to do here is to choose our base wad, which is our starting point for the new wad we are going to create. The reason we use base wads and don't start from 0 is that most people won't have enough knowledge to do that. When using a base wad, the most difficult stuff is done for us already (Animations and Layout).
You can choose your base wad on 2 ways:
  • Browse for an existing wad file. Note that this has to be the wad of a channel (IOS wads and other stuff will result in an error when loading)
  • Choose one of the base wads in the list below. This option requires an internet connection. If you found your desired base wad, press Load.

TIP
Some additional base WADs made by SifJar are available here.

2) Changing the displayed title (Title tab)
3. Continue to the next tab called Title.
This is how our channel is going to be named (the name is shown when you point to the channel with the Wii remote).
You can set a different name for each language, but only All languages needs to be filled in.
If you fill in one of the languages, it will use that title if the Wii is set to use that language.
TIP
You can easily translate your channel name to the various languages by including the word Channel in your title and clicking Translate 'Channel'.

3) Changing various options (Options tab)
4. Go to the next tab called Options. This is the final tab we need if we're not replacing images of the banner.
All things to fill in on this page are optional. If you leave them empty, it will use the same settings as already present in the Wad file.
  • To change the dol file (eg the App the channel loads), simply browse for it behind New Dol
    • Note: it is also possible to make forwarder channels (without build-in dol). More info about that here.
  • You can also change the Startup IOS (The IOS that is used to boot the channel. If that IOS isn't installed on the Wii, the channel will not work).
  • You can change the titleID too if you want to.
    • Note: the titleID must beunique. If this is not the case, any previous channel installed under the same title will be overwritten!
  • Adding a new sound is also done here, but be sure to use sounds that are as small as possible (or the wii will crash)
  • It is possible to change the nand loader, but most of the time, we'll use the one of comex.
  • Lz77 compression is a technique that can be used to 'compress' images (banner and icon in this case). Leaving it on will make the wad file a little smaller, so it is advised to enable it. The only time you should disable it is when you tried the wad and it doesn't work like it should.
  • It is not advised to turn the security checks off, so leave that box unchecked.

4) Banner & icon editing (Banner and Icon tabs) [Optional]
These steps are a little more advanced, and can be skipped if desired.
WARNING
Thechance on banner bricking your Wii is relatively high (not because ofthe program, but the big chance for an user made error). It is highlyrecommended to install bootmii as boot2 or priiloader!

Ok, time to get started :)
5. First, we need to extract all images we want to replace. We can do this with CustomizeMii, but its possible to do with ShowMiiWads as well.

Mii Channel Wad Dolphin Download

The steps below are for CustomizeMii. If you want to know how to do it with ShowMiiWads, you have to go to the ShowMiiWads page.

Check Mii Out Channel Wad

Go to the Banner tab. You will see a list of tpl files.
  • First click an image in the list and use preview to check what image it is.
  • When you find an image you want to replace, click Extract
  • Save the image to a folder where you can easily find it again.
6. Ok, so now we need to edit the image. This guide does not tell you how to do this, just use Photoshop or Paint (or another image editing program).
If you don't want to start over again with all previous steps, leaveCustomizeMiiminimized.
7. Once you edited your images, go to Download wad files for wiiCustomizeMii again.
  • Select the image you want to replace and click Replace.
  • Now browse for your edited image.
NOTE: You can change the size of the image, but it will be resized to the original size when you replace it, so watch out for stretched images !It is advised to use the preview button after you replace the image!
TIP
By Using the Multi Replace link on the bottom right you can replace multiple images at once. The only thing you need to do is to place them in 1 folder and rename them to the same as the ones you want to replace!

Once you replaced all Banner elements, you can do the same for the Icon (the next tab).
6) Layout & Animation editing (Layout and Animation tabs) [Optional]
This is a very advanced and difficult step. Unless you are an expert or really need it, you can skip to the next step.
This guide does currently not contain any steps on how to use Layouts and Animations. You will need to find another guide for this.

7) Creating the Wad file
To create your wad file, you can use the big button on the bottom that says 'Create WAD'.
You will be asked where to store the wad. Just browse to the place where you want to save it, give it a name and press Save.
